Anne's Corner

This weekend we are going to go to Omaha for a couple of days.  On Saturday night I am going to go to the Storms game with Friendslink. Yesterday we went out to lunch and stuff with Derek and his mom.  We went to the Grill 26.  After that we looked at some stuff at Hobby Lobby because I needed to get some more embroidery thread to help me finish my second pillow case.  Once I get that second one, I can bring it to class to show everyone.  It is almost April Fools Day.  Next Thursday I think it is.  I had to work today.  We are going to watch a movie tonight, Love's Enduring Promise.  I've got to volunteer tomorrow at the Sanford Stevens Center.  We are going to mall next week.  I am leaning toward Subway or Burger King to eat for next week.

First Class of Spring

Ok, I'll admit, having the first class of spring isn't as exciting as seeing the first tulip bloom, the last snowdrift melt or even the first robin, but I'm excited none the less.  I'm happy to see us moving into warmer weather as I think it will give us many opportunities to get outside and explore.  Like our class is called - Discover Together!  We also start our new books this week - boy, things really couldn't get better.  Unless someone decides to bring me a chocolate Easter bunny :).

Remember that tomorrow night we are having class at the Ronning Branch Library.  This is the library on 49th & Southeastern - not our favorite place to meet, but I like that we will have internet access there.  I put a survey on this blog and want to have everyone vote!

Here is the agenda for tomorrow night:

Erin is our leader.
Ice breaker - Erin
Review Agenda - Erin
Read book - Erin record our pages
Items to talk about (new schedule, mall activity, etc.)

Time to Celebrate Spring at Class!

I keep praying to someone that spring is truly here.  I'm not sure if anyone is listening, but at least I finally had enough snow melt on my roof that I could take down my Christmas lights.  I'm sure all my neighbors were thankful for that as well!  Class tomorrow night is going to be held at Morningside Community Center on 2400 S Bahnson Ave - sounds like many of you already know this location because of some previous Friends activities.  Next week we meet over at the Ronning Branch library again.  Hope everyone enjoys their evening & here is the agenda for tomorrow night.  Think Spring!!!

Update on Class

Tuesday night went well.  We spent some time talking more about the location of our class.  Some want to try to have class in the same place every week while others are really enjoying moving around to different places.  Since there was no concensus, we decided to continue to rotate class, but to not have class at Kenny Anderson Community Center again.

All of the participants brought home letters last week for their families.  The letters had options for hosting class and for signing up to car pool.  If you haven't seen the letter yet, please ask your son/daughter.

Night!

Countdown to Class!

I'm really excited for us all to get back together again this week.  Now that we are getting into the swing of things again, I really look forward to every Tuesday night.  Remember that we are meeting over at the Kenny Anderson Community Center - this is hooked on to the Anne Sullivan Elementary School.  It is a new place for us to meet, so it will be a learning experience for all of us.  I also reserved places for our other times in March and I'll share those with you tomorrow night. Can't wait to see you all!
